Here we are, Letter Writers!
We are still getting our legs underneath us, so if you feel wobbly about this first letter, ME TOO! Need reminders about what we’re up to here? Check out this post for more context. By all means, reach out with questions and/or suggestions. We’ll find our rhythm as we go.
If you’d like to participate this month, send me a message here on Substack with your first name and your address. You’ve got few days to get that to me. Within the week, I’ll reply to you with a name and address for the letter you’re writing.

Reminders of Good Faith Letter Writing:
-You do NOT have to follow the prompt.
-You do not have to (exclusively) write in your letter. Communicate how you communicate, whether that’s through words or images. Go simple. Go nuts.
-IF you include your return address on your letter you are indicating that the recipient COULD write you back, but you are NOT obligating them to.
-Don’t wait forever to send your letter! How about soon? How about within a week? The deadline = the commitment to really and truly send the letter.
-Receive your stranger’s letter with a generous heart and open curiosity. Don’t be a jerk who takes umbrage at what someone else was willing to share with you about their lives. Don’t be a butthead who critiques grammar, spelling, art or handwriting. BE LOVELY.
-While you may loudly celebrate the experience of receiving a letter, DO NOT publish someone else’s name and address or their letter online.
